The Roman virgin, St Firmina fled from Rome via Civitavecchia to Amelia in 303 AD. She converted her erstwhile persecutor, St Olympias, and both were subsequently martyred. Their relics were translated to a church on the site of the present Duomo in ca. 870.

St Himerius (17th June)

St Secundus (1st June)
St Secundus was martyred at Amelia in 303. According to one version of his legend, a lady called Eudoxia arranged for his burial outside Gubbio. The Abbazia di San Secondo subsequently claimed to house his relics. His head was translated to Pergola (a new colony of Gubbio) in 1285 and are preserved in the Duomo there.
