Bartolomeo da Miranda (died after 1449)

From Miranda, near Terni; moved to Spoleto

A venerated fresco (15th century) of the Madonna del Latte with SS John the Baptist and James that is attributed to Bartolomeo da Miranda was originally in a wayside tabernacle until the church of Santa Maria della Pace was built to house it.  Andrea Polinari (below) restored the fresco in 1603 and it now forms the altarpiece of the high altar. 






Francesco Melanzio (ca. 1465-1520)

From Montefalco

A panel (1494) of the Madonna del Succorso in the Abbazia di San Felice di Giano, which is dated by inscription, is attributed to Francesco Melanzio.   [It is now inside the abbey].

Andrea Polinori (1586-1648)

From Todi

Giacinto Boccanera (1666-1746)

From Leonessa; trained in Rome; based in Perugia

The altarpiece (1723) on the high altar of San Felice is by Giacinto Boccanera.  It depicts the Virgin holding the consecrated host, with the Blessed Roger of Todi and SS Felix, Rita and Pius V.
