Black Figure Vases (ca. 530 BC)

The two funerary vases [in showcase ??] , both of which depict hoplites (Greek citizen soldiers) in combat, came from the necropolis of Crocifisso del Tufo:

  1. This vase, which was found in the tomb of a warrior in 1880, is attributed to the Mannerist Group.






  1. This vase is attributed to the Princeton Group.






Red Figure Vases (ca. 470 BC)

The two funerary vases in showcase 6, both of which contain depictions of Dionysus, came from the necropolis of Crocifisso del Tufo:
  1. The vase on the left is attributed to the Syriskos Painter.

  2. The vase on the right is attributed to the Painter of the Yale Lekythos (oil flask).


Bronze Wine Jug (5th century BC)

This wine jug [in showcase ??] was found in the Settecamini Necropolis at Porano, near Orvieto, in 1930.





Architectural Terracottas (4th century BC)

The exhibits in showcase 11 include:

  1. an antefix (ca. 350 BC) from the Tempio del Belvedere, which depicts the head of a goddess; and





  1. an antefix (early 4th century BC) depicting the head of a God,  which was found in Via San Leonardo [in 1912 ??] and which might have come from the temple under the Palazzo del Capitano del Popolo;




  1. fragments of two polychrome antefixes  (4th century BC) [which were found [in the excavations under the Palazzo del Capitano del Popolo in 1984-9 ] that revealed the remains of this temple.
